Like many others around here I was shocked to learn (very late at that) the other day about the untimely passing last November of Commander Argus, or Nelson Birch as he is known to his family and friends.
The man was a true-blue fan of KP and all around stand up guy. He was skilled with words in his fiction and coming into his own as a fan-artist. If there was a person out there who ever had a beef with him, I never heard of it. His words were kind and drama free, which is saying a lot for being part of several creative communities (as the rest of us creatives tend to be full of... energy). Here, FF.net, RS.net, and at various other boards he was known as the Commander, and I am sure he will be as long as we are all here. Rest well, Commander Argus. Our loss is the Lord's and Heaven's gain. I pray for healing and peace for your family as they recover your premature departure. Your web and user pages will forever remain as a standing tribute to the man you were, and will continue to be in spirit. Rest well friend. We all miss you terribly. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. So when they pass, it isn't weird to feel a loss of someone you've never seen face to face, for you may have known better than some people that saw him every day. You're right to feel the way you do, as are the others that may be feeling the same.
